I have been working to get modern blades made that perfectly fit the needs we have for our systems. Thanks to expert knifemaker, Jeff Crowner, we have our first prototype.
The blade is 5.5 inches long, which is the legal limit to lawfully carry in Texas. It is made from a high quality carbon steel that has been heat treated to be very durable. There is a false edge on the back to facilitate thrusting, and the tang is tapered to make it easier to hold. The handle is long so that it can comfortably be held in a diagonal manner in the hand when using a forward grip. The design is meant to be comfortable in both forward and reverse grips, so the handle design is fairly neutral and straight. A single finger groove prevents grip slippage, as well as index the sharp edge of the blade when using in the dark.
