Background

Pencak Silat Mande Muda was designed by an Indonesian freedom fighter.
Uyuh Suwanda researched the traditional arts of Indonesia to design a complete system that would handle any situation.

He used Pencak Silat Mande Muda to free his country and preserve his culture. Together with his wife, he then passed it on to his family who further developed it and brought it to the west.

Pencak Silat Mande Muda

The attitude of one who learns Pencak Silat Mande Muda is to keep a young mind and always be open for growth. Never stop evolving.
Pencak Silat Mande Muda is based on principles of body mechanics and leverage making it functional for both the old and young, male and female. Training includes throws, takedowns, locks, ground fighting, empty hands and weapons techniques. Course material includes cultural studies and personal development. Pencak Silat Mande Muda offers the best of tradition yet cultivates the ability to adapt to change.

Our Mande Muda program is made available thanks to our instructors Guru Besar Dadang Gunawan, Guru Besar Rita Suwanda and the late Guru Besar Herman Suwanda as well as the rest of the Suwanda family.
