Short Workouts

Our workouts are short, but effective. The average workout is fewer than 20 minutes. A shorter workout leaves more time for you to live your life.

Functional Movements

We use exercises that support the necessary movements of real life. These are multi-joint, functional movements. Training functional movements will improve your quality of life and allow you to perform better at any task.

Scalable for Anyone

Our classes provide a great workout that can be adjusted for any fitness level. We have several tiers of workouts and personalize the intensity level to be appropriate for you.

Background

CrossFit began as a rebellious gym that used the methods of elite athletes to train ordinary people.
CrossFit evolved to incorporate exercises from many different training methods. As the founders of CrossFit, Kathy and Greg Glassman combined elements from several methods they began to see incredible results.

In the beginning, CrossFit workouts were posted online daily for all to try, but only a few would dare the challenge. Eventually CrossFit grew from an underground movement to a large community that supports a mindset of real self improvement.

CrossFit Strength and Conditioning

Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing.
Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. Whether you are training to be a superhero or simply want to be able to live your life with more strength, energy and balance, our classes are for you.

CrossFit brings elite level training methods to everyone. The training methods of CrossFit offer fast results that come faster as you increase your capacity to do more. Using constantly varied functional movements the typical class will develop the following skills:

Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, Accuracy

The training needs of the ordinary person compared to the next all-star athlete and military hero are the same, but only differ in the degree of intensity. Both need fitness training that lends to functional, natural and necessary skills that will improve the quality of life and perform better at any task whether that be saving a life or picking up something heavy.

The Tactical Arts Academy of Austin, Texas is a full CrossFit Affiliate dedicated to bringing you the best in fitness training. Our instructors initially came together with a passion for pursuing the benefits and fun of CrossFit. The dedication and support of this small training group learning CrossFit led to a greater sense of energy and health consciousness. As if it was contagious, our families and friends became involved in our training and found great results as well.
