1. I have never done martial arts, sports or fitness training before, is the Tactical Arts Academy right for me?
Of course. We have students of all skill levels, shapes and sizes. Our programs are designed to accommodate beginners and experts alike.
2. Should I get into shape before coming to class?
Don't wait. The best way to get in shape is to come to class. You will find that you will get into shape as you learn and practice. Our classes scale to any level.
3. I have a busy schedule, so I will sometimes miss a class or two. Is that ok?
Yes, missing classes occasionally is no problem. If you do miss a class, just know a few minutes of practice or training outside of class can make a big difference.
4. May I watch a class before I register?
Absolutely. First, make an appointment so we can meet and discuss your interests. After we meet, you are welcome to watch the classes that interest you.
5. Will I need any equipment for Martial Arts classes?
Yes, but each program is a little different. When you register, we will provide the essentials you need to participate in class. Otherwise, we will recommend any other gear appropriate for you as any needs arise in the future.
6. I don't carry a knife, stick, or gun why should I study weapons?
In order to have a good defense, you must understand the offense. Should you ever be attacked, it is likely that your attacker will have a weapon. Studying the dynamics of edged weapons and impact weapons will make you safer.
7. Who have you taught before in the law enforcement and military field?

8. When do you offer your defensive tactics and combatives training?
We offer defensive tactics workshops at the Tactical Arts Academy 2-3 times per year. Any other defensive tactics programs for law enforcement and combatives courses for military personnel are held within the facility of hosting departments. These occur year round in various locations.
