INDONESIAN MARTIAL ARTS

Pencak Silat Mande Muda

For those looking for a unique martial art that offers depth and variety.

Silat-1     Silat-5

The Pencak Silat Mande Muda program at Tactical Arts is a rare system of martial arts from Indonesia that is relatively unknown in the US. Pencak Silat (pronounced PEN- jock SEE- lot) focuses on limb controls, takedowns, and striking. Pencak Silat is the system that you are looking for, if you want to have fun and learn something deadly that few people know.

Pencak Silat is a diverse and deep martial art that answers a wide range of defense questions. It includes a focus on empty hands skills such as striking, controls, locks, breaks, takedowns and ground fighting, but also includes weapons training. Instructor Leslie Buck is a highly respected Pencak Silat instructor and has extensive experience training in Indonesia.

In the Pencak Silat Mande Muda system, you will learn the skills of various regional styles of Indonesian martial arts from West Java. These skills were compiled diligently by the Suwanda family orginally to be used for guerrilla warfare. The approach to training and learning is outside of the box, so you will never get bored. The wide variety of techniques and approaches allows you to personalize the art to fit you, rather than making you follow a cookie cutter program.
